Philadelphia is a city that has it all – a rich history, great shopping, world-class cultural and performing arts venues and a vibrant local sports scene. And the Sheraton University City Hotel is a great jumping-off point for getting to know all our city has to offer.

Get to know the birthplace of our nation, home to the most historic square mile in all of America. Walk the streets that Washington, Jefferson and Franklin knew so well. Hang out in the pubs where they blew off steam, and visit the room where they pledged their sacred honor to the cause of liberty.

While we in Philadelphia revere our past, we don’t live in it. Philadelphia is also a cosmopolitan community with much to offer a modern traveler. Visit Antique Row, Jeweler’s Row, or Rittenhouse Row, Philadelphia’s center for glamour. As you walk through the streets, you’ll find a number of hidden treasures, like coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques, as well as gifts and artwork along the Avenue of the Arts. Philadelphia is also home to large malls and bustling marketplaces. At night, Philadelphia lights up with first-class entertainment, some of the best restaurants on the East Coast, and plenty of after-hours hot spots.

Explore the arts and sciences at a number of museums and education centers. Visit the Philadelphia Zoo, the African American Museum, the National Museum of Jewish History, the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, or the Franklin Institute Science Museum.

Try hiking, swimming, boating or biking at Philadelphia’s 8900 acres of green space. Visit Roosevelt Park, Clark Park, or Fairmount Park, Philadelphia’s largest park. A visit to Fairmount Park offers a variety of vistas and experiences, from the crowd of runners and bikers along the famed Boathouse Row, to more tranquil spots, like those near the tree-lined homes of Chestnut Hill.

There are any number of sightseeing tours available, including the Philadelphia Trolley Works and Carriage Company. Explore the city on one of the open-air trolleys or aboard the Stars & Stripes Double Decker Buses. Wet your aquatic appetite with a fairy ride across the Delaware River for a visit to New Jersey’s Adventure Aquarium.

There’s a lot to do in Philadelphia. Maybe too much for just one visit. If you have a question or want suggestions, just ask us. We’ll help you know it all, again and again.
